He could play any of the three positions in behind Lukaku. His flexibility would be a real asset.

I dont think his talent is in any question. After what happened with Eto'o last season, though, that'd be my greater concern.

I wouldn't worry too much about his attitude since it's Mancini who we're talking about.

we wanted lennon but levy is holding out for 7/8 mil on a 29 year old with 1 year left on his contract.

ideally we couldve shifted mcgeady and pienaar for buttons and used their wages to finance a deal of around 3/4 mil for lennon which wouldve been fair

Seems too good to be true but Austin, shaquri, a cb (which I still think will be Evans), duelofeu, cleverley and hopefully Lennon on loan would be an amazing window for us.

I've yet to see one iota of evidence that we're even interested in Austin. There've been a couple of very irresponsible tweets from fans who should know better. It's just possible there may be something in it, but I'm certainly not holding out any hopes.

Evans ? Doesn't seem a likely target. Didn't Martinez deny interest in him a while ago ?

If Shaqiri comes - whose preferred position is on the right - I think we can forget about Lennon.

But yes, if we keep Stones, and bring in the Shaq plus a centre forward and a centre back, that would be ace.

Shaqiri would be a fantastic signing, pace, strength, agility, likes a shot outside the box, carries his national team like Bale at 23 years of age, get the boy in!

This. Stick Shaqiri in the No10 role like Switzerland and build a team around him and then you would see him fulfill his promise.

As a defender being up against Lukaku/Austin and then seeing Mirallas,Shaqiri and Deulofeu all charging at you on the counter that could be very "interesting".

With McGeady/Pienaar as backup i cant see that happening though...i think Shaqiri, Deulofeu and Mirallas should be alternating on the wings and an actual playmaker signed.

But Barkley plays central anyway, our playmaker probably won't start in the natural No.10 position
