Not giving up on Yarms just yet myself. Long shot but Martinez sounded too confident about two attacking players that it could still be possible...

Very much so... I suspect they are deals that are close to being done. He is certainly not going to be making new approaches for any new players at this point...

Why do so many people disagree with the signing of Lennon. He was our BEST player from Jan last season by a mile. Really shook up the squad and embarrassed some players for lack of effort and fitness. We are not the club that can attract the world's best players - get over it. Lennon will improve our starting 11 and squad.

So we are still looking for a number 10.
So I take it he will have to be European based as will we get a work permit in time?
Or will we go without the more you think off it

Roberto Martinez looking abroad for a new number 10

The Everton manager says he is looking abroad as there are no British options at present.

Roberto Martinez will be looking abroad this summer as he tries to find himself another number 10, according his comments in the Liverpool Echo.

The manager admits he is looking for another player in the position, likely to be a backup to Ross Barkley, and says he has already drawn up a list of targets.

However, he does say that he has been scouting players across Europe, as there are no homegrown talents that fit the bill at this moment in time.

"It is difficult to find an English No10 because the upbringing is very, very different," Martinez said.

"But it is true that if you look at every single team in the Premier League unfortunately, that player is someone who has had that upbringing abroad."

Who Martinez will target however, remains to be seen. With Everton'swell publicised lack of spending, it is unlikely a bigger name will be arriving at Goodison Park anytime soon.

His comments however, do suggest a move for Tom Cleverley may not be as much a certainty as expected, while it does also slightly bring into question Ross Barkley's role at the club as well.

An interesting summer awaits it seems.

Is he better than Kone on the right side of midfield? Yes. Cleverley on the right side of midfield? Yes. Naismith on the right side of midfield? Yes. Barkley on the right side of midfield? Yes. McGeady on the right side of midfield? Yes. Mirallas and Deulofeu will/can not play every minute of every game so Lennon would be a good signing.

It does feel like we won't have too many options left for the no 10 role at this point.

Let's hope Roberto has something up his sleeve.

There's always Fellaini...
