Travel thread 3.0

We're planning to hire a campervan and drive around the coast of Ireland in May, with lots of stops for walks. Anyone done it and any tips?
I did similar about 15 years ago so I don’t remember much about it except it was a good holiday. One thing I do remember is that I went in August and the roads were very busy and blocked with endless tour buses. I expect May would be more quiet on the roads.

Have done many parts of the coastal drive but at different times. Main tip is always prepare for rain. Lots of great scenery and plenty of good food and Guinness.
Always prepared for rain! Wouldn't mind a bit of wild and windy weather on the west coast, just a couple of days though :)

Yeah I imagine July and August are best avoided for that reason.

I’m off to Milan in a couple of weeks just for a weekend. Got tickets for Milan v Atalanta , booked a visit to the last supper painting and hopefully going to do a stadium tour of the San siro….. anything else I should be seeing ? Any suggestions welcome.
The cathedral is worth a visit. Milan is a very modern city compared to Rome. We went to Lake Como after Milan which was stunning.

Going to be spending 4 nights in NYC in April. Any thoughts on the best (and worst) parts of town to stay in? I guess price will be the defining factor anyway. I guess anywhere in Manhattan is fine though

I'm staying at the Leo house on W27th street in Manhatten in April. About the only half decent looking hotel that didn't demand a kidney as down payment

Great location and a very interesting history given its ties to Pope Leo XIII.

Bit off topic but I’m an admirer of his especially his encyclical Rerum novarum—very insightful regarding the rights of workers and social doctrine
