Travel thread 3.0

What's food like over there? Always wondered. Guessing general med stuff.

….much depends on where you eat. We have a lovely hotel in Pathos we’ve frequented lots & the food there is glorious. We went last year after it reopened following COVID & the service offering wasn’t as good.

This year Mrs Br and I are staying in Ireland - sick of airports and hassle. At the moment Dublin is chaotic. We have travelled widely, and love when we "get there". However, we are agreed that it is no longer enjoyable to go through all the crap.

We have booked Parknasilla Hotel & Spa for our 30th Anniversary in July. It is in the beautiful County of Kerry, and on the famous Ring of Kerry. Just need to try and avoid the tourist buses on the Ring.

That’s a lovely part of the world.
Early congrats to you and Mrs. BR!

I was there at 3am this morning and it took an hour through security. Had plenty of time to spare but never seen it so busy. The queues for food in the terminal were mad as well.

Had a great week so far.
Off to Southern Turkey on the 28th for about a weeks worth of roaming round and coastal walks.

Really looking forward to it before tourist eason properly kicks in.
Had a great week so far, the whole coastal area between Antalya and Fethiye is absolutely stunning.

If you like walking up in the hills it honestly reminds me of Central California, but a whole lot cheaper and less crowded. If you like to explore the coast you can probably find a little rocky beach all to yourself. History buffs will also love it, The Lycians, Hellenic history, Alexander the Great, Romans, it's all here.

Stayed in a place called Side, then moved onto Tekirova for 3 nights then onto Kas (ace) for 4 and now at a place that I don't even think has a name, but it's nearby Oludeniz. Beautiful view from my little cabin.

Lovely part of the world, my mrs and daughter got back from oludeniz last week and all of us are flying back out there on July 7th .. staying up the hill in hisouranu ? this time rather than Ouldeniz itself … visited some great places last time I was there too.

This place is about half an hour east of Ouldeniz, reception says the area is called Kabak.

If anyone in here has ever travelled by freighter cabin give me a shout. I'm planning on a long trip through the US and Canada next year for my 50th. Despise flying, so researching alternative routes!
