I think you are wrong my Friend.

Any manager we hired would need vast funds to compete, this isnt La Liga or Eresdivivivie or whatever its called.

I realise Vardy FC did it on a shoestring, but they werent 5000/1 for nothing, it wont happen again IMO.

Emery has done quite poorly in La Liga for me, its a 3 team league and hes currently 7th.

Thats not to take anything away from him, hes done a great job in Europe, but I think you are over selling him a lot.

Perhaps, but I don't think I'm doing him enough favors compared to supporters of other candidates. It's more of where he sits on our list and whether we do enough to turn his head. I do agree we don't have to sell our preferred candidate that much, but it's tiring with detractors calling every thing he doesn't do well. That's why we are going to have a DoF, cause a single point of failure is not ideal for anything. Also, without my overhype selling, who would care about Emery even after yesterday's game?

Also, I second @bluestevon in that he might bring the best out of our current crop. I feel the same for FDB, Cocu, Koeman, not so much about Mourinho, but achievement wise, I would target Emery first.

Thing is Goat, if you was a Sevilla fan, would you rather qualify for the CL by finishing 4th or by winning the EL and finsihing still in the qualifying positions for the next years EL which is what they do?

Because it seems like that is a conscious decision he makes every year to prioritise the EL soon as they reach the QF and from that point their league form suffers

At a bigger/better squad with Valencia he did get 3rd routinely - before the Simeone revival at Athletico obviously

Being honest if any manger came into here - finished 7th roughly every season and got us into Europe and on top of that we then won 3 European pots and possibly a domestic one as well then i'd snap your hand off - espeically if they did it on the type of net spend that Sevilla have had

Mate im a fan of the fella, I said prior to the game if he wins he becomes my 2nd choice.

Todays list :

1. Cocu
2. Emery
3. Favre
4. FDB
5. Koeman

Your list changes more often than mine mate, think i'm about a week away from just accepting anyone with a foreign name now.

Cocu is a weird one - i mean in that there has been absolutely zero rumours of him moving anywhere...

OK, I'll try to start a wave for Cocu starting tonight after work LOL

My list is pretty consistent so far I hope

I just really want Cocu, but yes, nothing anywhere about the fella, its totally weird.

Given the secrecy of Moshiri taking over, wouldn't shock me one bit if Cocu or Emery suddenly got unveiled actually (someone no one has really shouted as a possibility), sneaky suspicion these guys are exceptionally good at keeping things they don't want the press to find out away from them.

My only worry is he might try and do what Martinez did last year and set the Europa league as his target. I have little doubt the implantation would be far better. For me though it wasn't just the implantation that was the problem for Martinez but it was his decision making. If he comes in he will need to treat the league as his first concern.
I'm not worried about that. I think you have to look at the financial constraints he's been working with, a massive negative net spend at both Valencia and Sevilla. That obviously entails lots of comings and goings and makes it impossible to build a settled side that can compete for the league. He's never been in a situation where he's got financial stability and can build.

His niece did not retweet my quote so I'm hoping I hit the jackpot here. Perhaps she's told NOT to make noise about him so we can steal him away LOL

Here's to hoping!

For me:
Emery/Simeone > Tuchel > Cocu > FDB/Favre/Garcia > Koeman > Mourinho > Howe

My list above contains names many will consider untouchable, but hey, it's just a wishlist!
And I have reasons for the order, though it will be too long and personal to list LOL

Would take any on that list except Howe, got major doubts about Koeman and FDBV as well though amnd honestly have no idea really about Garcia as don't follow Italian football at all ;/

Re Garcia, I'm against firing a manager just over a bad run of games. Like "seriously Roma? do you really expect to beat Juve to the title?" Also, his replacement was another name in my list, Spalletti. I always remember Garcia as the manager who gets sent off for taunting the ref LOL

As for the other names you have concerns with, that's why they are not higher up on my list, and could be pushed down if good names come available.

1 of those names is not like the others.

So what about Mourinho then, by your logic you are over selling him also, seeing as he had Chelsea a few points of relegation, i know he is your no1 choice if we could get him, mine also.
