Defensively we looked alright with the 3/5 at the back but just nothing happening to move the ball up the pitch.

I don't mind Lukaku missing, as long as he gets into those positions regularly.

He's stank the place out last time out and most of that half because not once did he even get close to that sort of position.

That's the thing, for a player of his calibre, as you say, he should be getting into those positions more, seen him doing it for a spell last season when we had Del playing out wide.

...anticipated worst than this if I'm honest. I'd much prefer Deulofeu out wide as an out ball and creative force, we are having to go back to front through the centre and the ball is coming back. No link between back to front and no creativity but it's early days.

defensively sound but unable to keep ball for periods. Del is very slack in his passing and control making us break down quickly. Seem to be letting the front 3 try to do things themselves rather than trying to support them. Looks like a defensive ploy today with trying to counter. Good to see the defence playing well with a no nonsense keeper looking quite assured.
