I missed the second half. I had a meeting and actually had to do some work...total BS.

How was the second half compared to the first?
As exciting as

At least it was a 500% improvement on the Anfield Derby and Sunderland etc games at the end of last season.

No pointless possession football and a much stronger looking defence.

Encouraging signs.

I suppose not a great spectacle for the neutral but for an Evertonian it was very very interesting. Thumbs up for the defensive performance we have not seen since Moyes days...so proof that our defence is not crap but was used wrong. Midfield never got going really with the ball but worked hard at pressing. We had the best chances but fluffed our lines. Intriguing match with our set up and I reckon a lot of questions answered for Koeman. We looked a unit at the back with Holgate shining

I thought Holgate was the star performer last night and looked so at ease ,Koeman and Funes-mori both said the same and he will get lots of playing time .I also thought Tom Davies looked great when he came on ,with these coaches he will be a real top player ,silky skills and great vision ,great first touch just needs helping along and we are on to winner Lulaku was moving a bit more and Stones was fine given what is going on behind the scenes
Onwards and upwards

Agree totally. Holgate was brilliant. A little raw but took it all in his stride.

Davies too. Just looks to be enjoying himself.

I know we all want boss signings but these two have saved us a ton of cash I reckon.

If Gueye is integrated quickly before Spurs and is there to just sit and mop up in front of the defence I have no qualms with Davies starting in front vs Spurs. He's young and inexperienced but he's not let himself down so far.

Midfield looked decidedly light weight. Everything else looked sound. Did anyone else notice Fellini throwing the elbow at Gibson when Gibson brought him down. Seems to be Fellini's default position now, anyone touches him he elbows them. Mourino seemed to see it.
