Usmanov

It may or may not happen but it would certainly concentrate the minds of said clubs if they are told they will not be readmitted to the league once they've decided to leave.
I guess a lot would depend on who the backers of a Euroleague would be. If Sky switch their money to it then it would be game, set and match to the Euroleague.

Heard after he sold his shares at Arsenal he agreed not to buy or be involved with another club in the Premier League until 2020. Maybe he’s getting himself ready to officially get onboard.

As others have said there is a risk due to the clamp down on Russian money in the UK, so I'd imagine he is happy with Moshiri as the face but we all know it is backed by Usmanov. Expect him to appear as a guest of honour when BM is finished, that'll give the biggest clue.

I've not really been convinced that Usmanov has any great role at Everton so far, but I do keep hearing journalists (the latest of which being Marcotti) openly talking about Ancelotti holding talks with Usmanov as if his involvement here is old news (perhaps it is). But he's clearly not an owner and his role doesn't seem to be official, so I wonder what it is he really does, beyond offering lucrative sponsorship deals and advice to Moshiri.

Genuinely think it's the latter of what you've mentioned.

Must admit I cannot see any lucrative sponsorships. Certainly there are companies linked to Moshiri involved but the sums of money are quite small compared with the Sky/BT favoured few.

Point still stands, a company linked to Moshiri adding comparatively little to the bottom line in terms of commercial revenue. Lucrative??

All adds to the coffers - if USM sponsored us massively from the start the authorities would have been all over us.

If they increase it little by little each time alongside provide say naming rights for the ground they'll still be contributing a decent level of income to us.

The question is if Usmanov comes on board officially what would happen to the sponserships? Could they stay or would they have to be terminated?
