USMNT

Turner wasn’t in the team. Ochoa was third choice for the nations league games. Turner is the best of the bunch for me. Gregg has favorites though, and having coached Steffen at Columbus, it’s not really a surprise he’s given preference.
Even if you want to ignore the goal Steffen has played himself onto the bench for sure in my eyes tonight.

Ultimately that's a fine enough window and it'll look even better if Panama can't win later. I still think the biggest issue you can rightly have with Gregg so far is not taking the trip to Panama serious with his team selection. Even a draw there and it is hard to see anything worse than 3rd.

As far as I can tell, the kids I played with in kindergarten have more of a grasp of tactics than Berhalter.

To be fair, we were coached by a Belgian who knew his football.
People are too harsh on Gregg. He's fine enough when he's got time to get everyone on the same page. Obviously that's not the best for international management but it isn't the worst either. I think we're alright.

Panama still has to go to the Azteca and to the USA. Also Canada only has two home matches left and finishes up by traveling to Panama. That could be absolutely massive.

Unless Jamaica pulls out results in both of their next two (Mexico and Panama), I think the top four is pretty set. The key is going to be staying out of that fourth spot and avoiding the play in. Going to be tight right until the end I think, but I’m confident we’ll finish first or second.

It's weird having that as the narrative when the US and Canada are a point apart

People are so desperate it seems, largely in the media to go ape sh** after every match. And I don't mean to apply this to the US, any team has one bad result and it's always just the start of the end.

The US draws after beating Mexico with a couple players hurt and a few others suspended against a Jamaica side that is better than where they are in the table and they're faltering?

I thought they were crap, and had no energy but I expected the dud. The mexico game is always gonna pose an issue, whether it was the 1st or 2nd of the window. The energy was gonna be off.

The same thing happened after the loss to Panama. I don't understand why fans and pundits seem to not be able to realize that these guys are people and not machines, of course I get frustrated with them at times, but I know you're gonna lose. Guys are gonna take bad cards, show up with no energy. It happens. I know we act like it never happens, but it happens to every team.

Being able to get out of that with a draw is totally what you want out of your side.

They're really young. Suspect coaching, I don't think it's happened at times where they don't show up to play and you can't understand why.

It's always been, injuries, guys missing, away game after a big win. It's never been multiple games in a row.

They're fine.

Fearmongering and concern trolling for clicks have spread to every corner of the media now, including the sports pages. It’s embarrassing.
