Another thought: before this tournament nearly everyone was saying that USA's fate would hinge on Bradley's performance. Bradley has yet to show up and we're flying relatively high anyway. If Bradley turns it on against Germany and this team really starts clicking in the center of the field, I can certainly see a result.

And people wonder why we scream, yell, and cheer so loudly... between haters at home and abroad, cheer LOUDER.

To be fair @Walken is sound. He just likes to fish a LOT...every once in a while he'll get a bite, and to be honest he's pretty darn good at the wind up as he reels them in.

As @ijjysmith stated, most of it is a joke...most of it is pretty obvious wumming. My only objection is the shear volume of wind up attempts at Americans.

Yesterday's U.S. vs. Portugal World Cup game did 18.2 million viewers on ESPN, 6.5 million viewers on Univision and 500,000 more viewers who were streaming the game. That beat NBA finals and the World Series. It was the most-watched non-football game ever on ESPN, peaking at 23 million viewers at 7:30 p.m.

But I thought they played football at the WC?

To be fair I've worked in the states a couple times and always loved it, some boss places, filled with the most courteous of hosts. great to see such a strong american community for a non-sky team. It's because of this community we have been privy to all the info coming out of america, and which players will take the prem by storm.

In all seriousness the US were excellent against Portugal and deserved a win, they've done themselves proud in a tough group

was at a different bar, but here's the scene from The Playground, a cool bar downtown that also opens their doors early for PL matches during the season. more seats upstairs... and mercifully a canopy or whatever, as it was about 104f/40c or so yesterday.

@obc it's too bad you can't get KUPD in Tucson...

I think we used to on a carrier for a while. Radio here sucks. 2 sportstalk am stations, 1 classic rock one, and jarg jarg jarg. It is one of the stations we cycle through when visiting my wife's folks up in Phoenix.

In three weeks I'll be in Asuncion... that God for streaming, as I imagine most of the radio there won't be up my alley.

I watched the England/USA game at a bar at the last WC...was boss. Wish I'd have been at a bar for the Algeria game...I was in my apartment by myself jumping around and yelling like a mad man.
