They do admit to errors
I think the time it takes to get the lines drawn is what annoys people the most. A visual check by VAR is a happy compromise, you get a more accurate call then depending on a linesman and don`t have to wait 3 or 4 minutes for a decision to be made. That wouldn't quell the arguments.
Ref watch coming up for those interested..
The way rugby works shows that the VAR officials are part of a team that is lead by the referee. You can see that they are working together to pick up on as much foul play as possible and come to the right decisions. Lots of time the VAR will let the ref know about something that happened off the ball and the linesmen are watching as well and as part of a team they catch most stuff. They are also very clear in how they come to the decision but the ref always comes across as the person in charge and calling the decision.Of course var gets things wrong, they've admitted plenty of times, also you only have to look at the actual angle of the lines they draw. Look at Betos or was it DCL'S from one side it looks on and the other off. Rugby league's var leaves football for dead for accuracy and clarity.

What we have is a group of people doing their own thing and people are left questioning at times what the decision was made for. VAR doing a check in our game, the seems to not have a clue whats going on. Fouls happen close to the touchline and the linesman dosen`t seem to see it. Of course the fact that most players are throwing themselves on the ground and having full on wrestling matches at corners and free kicks isn`t helping either.
We would of never got a penalty at Anfield if VAR was in place when Rooney scored. Do you think VAR would have looked at Lescott getting fouled by Carragher? Also why can ref overrule VAR at Arsenal last season, yet not just go with refs decision on Saturday. VAR has been designed to give RS and City decisions, if ref had missed Rodris handball before VAR, you would of let it go, but with VAR it should of been clear penalty. It hasn't stopped wrong decisions, so it should go.You have to ask why Pigmol and the league didn’t go for the semi automated offsides that seemed to work so well in the recent World Cup.
VAR isn’t the problem, it’s the corrupt officials using it that’s the issue.
Didn't the clubs originally vote not to bring it in?You have to ask why Pigmol and the league didn’t go for the semi automated offsides that seemed to work so well in the recent World Cup.

You'd think after the sport's been professional for 160 or something years they'd have a rule book or something that the referees can use.I don't think Var will ever work for pens in general because penalties are generally down to opinion
