The meat substitute stuff is foul. That said, I do enjoy some vegan dishes.

A decent lentil Dahl or veg curry with potatoes and a cauliflower (Aloo gobi) is immense.
My vegan mate makes this African stew with sweet potatoes and peanut butter and it's incredible.

It's good that so much energy is being put into alternatives.
I probably wont ever switch over myself (I like bacon and lamb chops too much) but I do think we should move towards eating less meat in our diets given the impact of factory farming and the impact of large scale cattle farming. It doesn't seem sustainable at the current rate.

I’ve eaten loads if it and it’s fine. Like any food, you get good and bad

had moving mountains burgers a few times, they’re pretty good imho.
Not sure if they’re vegan or vegetarian though?
Edit they’re vegan - phew, thought I’d slipped up in my strict 100% Vegan Sun-Thu lifestyle (exc animal products and bacon sarnies)
They do make for a great bacon cheese burger nonetheless.

I've tried a fair bit and am not impressed.
That said, I'm guessing it probably tastes better if you don't have the real thing in your diet as often. I'm not a vegan, so if I want a plant based meal, then I'd rather go for a dish made from fresh veggies, after all I can eat real meat any time I want.

Some of it is dire, make no mistake, but there is a lot that is very good and getting better. I am not a vegan either btw.

Not much in this world seems sustainable at all the rate we're going

It's not. The most important thing and the biggest impact we could make (which no politicians outside China would dream of doing for loss of popularity) is to tell people to stop breeding for a while. Simple as that.

Gregg's vegi sausage roll is a food of the gods. I swerve normal sausage rolls.

When you look at human population levels historically and future projections you wonder when the earth is just gonna self combust or something

It definitely doesn't taste as good as actual meat, but douse anything in sauce (as I did even back in my meat-eating days) and it doesn't really matter.
