Vegans

No, not enjoyment - preparedness. If you are going to enjoy eating it you should be prepared to kill and butcher it yourself as part of the appreciation of what you're doing. I've done this - and am far more respectful and appreciative of what I eat as a result.
I wasn't shaming, it was an analogy. Sorry if I caused any tears of upset x
An analogy for what though? lol lol

Good on you for the local stuff, that is where my parents are at with it, I do think more education of the geographical miles food travels for both packaging and sale is important, would like to see it on the packaging.

I don't really judge a meat eater who wasn't prepared to slaughter to be honest, but can appreciate it the process would educate awareness. My brother became veggie after doing a few weeks as an environmental officer in an industrial abateur and quitting a few days in utterly depressed, we are millenials though.

My opposal? 🤔🤣
And where exactly are you finding false equivalence in my post? Which incidentally is verbatim The Vegan Society’s definition…..
If someone claims to be a vegan but quite happily wears animal products they aren’t vegan.
Eat what you want, wear what you want but don’t claim to be something you aren’t and not have the urine taken out of you.
You’re not ‘CyclingMikey’ by chance are you?
You have thrown a blanket over everyone who proposes any virtue in vegan options and insisted unless they stick to every single aspect of it all time for all time they are hypocrite, its a ridiculous notion and one you are rightly rowing back from.

Now go build me a carbon negative bike

I haven’t thrown a blanket over anyone, nor am I rowing back from a position as I didnt stake one.
I made what was intended to be a light hearted post in a thread about VEGANS, which by definition is set of uncompromising principles.

In fact I myself am a fully committed vegan except on Fridays when I have steak and chips (fried in duck fat) sitting on my leather sofa washed down with a nice glass of milk.
Oh and I’ve got leather shoes and trainers.
Thinking about it, I typically have a bacon butty most mornings too, but other than that im 100% committed to my vegan life choice and I’ll not have any one say a bad word about veganism.

Now go make me a nice mug of bovril.

I can never understand why people care so much about what others do. It is the same as those freaking out about men in dresses and women commentating on football - who cares?!?!

I know a lot of full on ethical vegans that won't wear clothing/shoes made from animals. It's not that hard to do if you're happy/able to pay the extra cost, pretty sure some major sneaker brands have vegan options. Suppose it's like how people wouldn't eat South African oranges during apartheid etc. I also know some vegetarians who correctly point out that wearing leather/glue made from animals is purely a by-product of the meat industry. If the cows were grown purely for making jackets (and the meat was discarded) the clothing would cost thousands.

Blows my mind that so many people have issues with what other people choose to put in their mouths. I've had a number of people have a pop at me over the years when they find out that I don't eat meat. My response is always, 'you do you and I'll do me'.
How often is this offer of mutual masturbation accepted?
