Good performance, pace, power, varied movement, good hold up play - he just needs to turn up and compete really. He has enough about him to be a handful for opposition teams. The consistency of performance in all aspects has got to be there though, week in, week out. A little bit of confidence wouldn't be a bad thing, his character gets questioned alot, but I think he's always lacked a bit of self belief.

The slating of Victor. Today he played very well and looked very good. We should all be saying well done to the lad and forget the rest of it.

Yes he was ok today

Lets see him do it for a full season though before praising him

I have seen enough dog sh1t performances from him to not get carried away after when good showing

Not helped by the club briefing against him in the local press.

His attitude and work ethic seems to have changed making him a better player. As long as he keeps these up I will support him but if he returns to the sh!teness he has served up for the last few seasons then he really needs to go. Don't get me wrong, even when he plays well I still consider him an average player and nothing special. Its time he repayed us with a consistent season instead of being a sulky kid.

Victor isn't top-top class, of course he isn't, but his limitations (magnified beyond all reason, IMO) are outweighed by his plus points. Do we really think a club of our means anywhere can have a deputy striker to call on better than him? Sorry, we'll have to get a board of directors ,worthy of the name first.

I think an awful lot of the criticism is down to perceived attitude: but who can say from a position of strength what his 'attitude' is?

He couldn't finish 90 minutes, he admitted that.

He isn't a very intelligent footballer. He has a bad first touch. 2 seasons ago he was simply awful. The season prior to that he looked effective on the wing.

Today was a catalyst for him. His fitness has improved, his touch is a bit heavy still, but you can see confidence in him. He has to kick on from here.

Swansea were pesh at the back. Hell have sterner tests.

Perhaps. He's also playing with better players up front and it allows him to play to his strengths instead of chasing the ball around all by himself. I don't want to knock his improvement, but it's a lot easier to play striker with the way we're playing now as opposed, for example, to this time last season.

I offer you the comparison of James Vaughan, who he came through the ranks with and broke into the first team with. Vaughan was always the blue eyed boy out of the two, praised by many for his 'intelligence' and 'movement'...Vic was always the ginger haired stepson. Vaughan's now in the wilderness (admittedly he's had injuries) whilst Victor's knocking them in again in the PL.

He's been in and around the first team for a few years and you dont last that long and get new contracts by being slow witted. He hasn't got the quick feet of Osman or the anticipation of Jelavic, or the pace of others but he's got a solid all-round game and is an absolute nuisance for the opposition when he's in their box.

I dont know what people expect out of the kid. I keep hearing he's lazy and uninterested and strolls around. They're all just words that tell you more about the frustration of those that use them rather than anything meaningful about what they see as strengths and weaknesses.
