Christ on a bike!I've bought a couple records from Discogs and they all arrived yesterday. All of them play fine, and it seems a lot cheaper than the people you find on the Facebook marketplace.
To be fair, in my experience, if it’s a really common record with loads of UK copies for sale, Discogs is generally ok, particularly if buying from dealers with high sales and good rep.Christ on a bike!
I buy quite a bit off discogs. If VG+ is good enough for you (it should be for anyone that actually plays their records), then with a bit of patience most of what you want will come along at a fair price eventually.I've bought a couple records from Discogs and they all arrived yesterday. The ones who take ages to post your record are usually the ones who go on about immediate payment in their seller terms. And those who try and abdicate any responsibility if it goes missing or gets damaged in transit. Actual business owners in many cases who don't understand the basics of distance selling.I buy quite a bit off discogs. My main problems with it are:
People grading too liberally, VG+ should mean no audible scratches. So often you find something graded VG+ then read the description... "a few pops and clicks here and there, bit of surface noise". It ain't VG+ then, mate.
People taking your money then not posting your record for two plus weeks.
People packing records badly, and/or in the sleeves.
