Actual decent records in the charity shop today. Not bargain priced but all high end VG+ for sound and sleeve. Good bit of dust on them but seem pretty much scratch free and should clean up nicely.

Black Sabbath - Paranoid (1976 NEMS Gatefold Reissue)
Squeeze - Play (1991 German / UK release)
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young - Deja Vu (1972 Gatefold Reissue)

£29 for the lot so not an absolute steal but a very decent price given the condition and going to a charity. There was some other decent stuff there (Teardrop Explodes - Kilimanjaro, Stranglers-Rattus Norvegicus) but figured I'd let someone else drop on them as they were a touch overpriced for me.

I can appreciate what vinyl brings to a party.

2 new additions:

Herb Alpert and The Tijuana Brass: Whipped Cream & Other Delights - 1965 UK mono release.

Van Halen: 1984 - 1984 original UK 1st pressing with Roman Numeral sticker. I’ve been looking for a decent copy with the sticker for a while.
Has Whipped Cream & Other Delights gone full circle from being the vinyl meme type of album that is always in charity shops / thrift stores to actually being something people actively want now?

Maybe so. I’ve been picking up Herb’s albums from charity shops over the year but never actually seen Whipped Cream. Only paid £4 off Discogs.

Bob Marley Legends, Lianne le Havas and Steely Dan Aja were awful.
Can vouch for that last one, a shocking pressing. I get the bar is high because it's Steely Dan but no excuse for that.

Countdown to Ecstasy possibly even worse because they didn't correct for the album being out of tune on the original pressings, even though they fixed it for CDs and streaming.

I've bought 5 modern pressings recently.
Joni Mitchell Spark and Court was wonderful.
Kate Bush Kick Inside was ok.
Bob Marley Legends, Lianne le Havas and Steely Dan Aja were awful.

Wish I had waited and bought 2nd hand copies
Still got my original Court and Spark think I copied it on to tape and put it away, from that to MP3. Should dust it off and give it a spin.
