yep I agree Pete,,, but sadly t's true. England have a reputation earned over many a year which now preceeds them. Obviously the attacking of innocent men, women and children is cowardice and disgusting but for anybody to deny that there is a large contingent of England fans ( and welsh probably) who are there purely for this kind of trouble is Naïve at best.

I have no problem with the nutters getting a kicking if that's what they went for. But they are such a small minority of the 100,000 English supporters over there. When a man and his wife with a couple of kids gets dragged into it I find it somewhat difficult to understand........yet they all get tarred with the same brush......

Happy memories of my youngest son attending Billy Higgins Dojo on Poolstock Lane, Wigan. Billy was a really nice bloke who was brilliant with the kids, & apart from Karate making sure he organised Xmas parties for the children. The children were in awe of him & there was no messing about - discipline!!
sadly for the English this is a consequence of historical fan behaviour.... Just so happens everybody was ready for them this time.

My son and myself got our 1st Dan training with Billy. I was lucky to get to spar with him most weeks, which usually resulted with me on my back with him having swept my front or back foot. The term built like a shitbrickhouse was probably coined for him......fantastic lad with the biggest of smiles, winner of so many titles and a great teacher........I once was asked by Billy to punch him in the chest while he demonstrated a move, which I did but obviously pulled up right on his body, he shouted at me to go through him which I then did expecting him to block or move out of the way, he didn't budge and I hit him as hard as I could right in the middle, he didn't budge......everyone went ooohhh......he then said do it again, so I did but this time he moved aside, swept my front foot and hit me about four times as I was going down.....I was in total awe of the man, and slightly bruised.......

Don't for any second think your average supporter deserves it though. I've got mates going over to the game on Thursday and hope they don't get caught up in anything. It doesn't seem like these fellas are too fussed whether you're up for a fight or not.
