2024/25 Vitalii Mykolenko

Still plays as he did on his debut for us, terrified to get the ball and can't wait to get rid of it most of the time by hoofing upfield. A nothing player

Just saw a Villa full back get the ball in a tight situation. He twisted and turned and next thing is they were on the edge of Arsenal's 18 yard box.

Mykolenko would've punted it out for a throw in and the pressure would've been back on us.

….if that was him who squared it for Beto’s goal, I assume he now has his first Everton assist.
He so rarely gets the opportunity to overlap and cut inside a full back like that. You hardly ever see McNeil combine with a full back like that as well, which is why it was an especially rare thing to see :lol:

Individually though, they are both capable of doing stuff like that, so it's a real headstratcher as to why they don't attempt it more..

Capable of doing stuff like that against a League 2 side.

I think, because it took a clip off the defender before it reached Beto, it doesn't get counted as an assist. I'm not 100% sure tho.

….assist according to BBC;

This lad's a slow-burner. Needs confidence from a run of games like all our squad.

This is the reality of Everton right now, we're just not all that good on paper.

But given a run, Dyche then improves them organisationally, physically, and then the odd result comes and the belief and confidence edge up. This is very true of Myko. CHrist knows where his mind must be when he's not playing and training, as well.

People might also forget he ended the season injured and then got injured again for Ukraine.
