Was Lampard a mistake

Did Frank really do anything wrong tonight or at West Ham? There were no glaring errors.

Our heads go down when we’re playing away. That’s the bottom line. Carragher said last week that our players are psychologically weak and that they need to have the backing of the crowd to play well. That makes sense because we do play well at home under Frank and we’re dire away from home. We won our last home match and even when we’ve lost home matches under Frank we’ve given a good account of ourselves. When we lost to the champions last month we deserved a point and in fact we were robbed of a point.

I was reading earlier that between late September and late January we attained just 6 points. 6 points in four months! That’s when the damage was done, particularly in terms of the psychological deterioration of our players.

Let’s hope for a bear pit atmosphere on Saturday at Goodison against the Mancs. Win that and one or two others between now and the end of the season and we’ll likely stay up.

I hope you're right..And we're always up for doing the mancs, the early kick off might not help but it would be typical Everton if we turn them over.

I love Duncan. He bleeds blue and he’s an honorary Scouser as far as I’m concerned. But what managerial experience has Duncan got? A few matches as caretaker? Shoot me down in flames for saying this but we should have re-appointed the guy who took us from just above the relegation zone to 8th spot a few years ago - Big Sam.

We finished 10th under Ancelotti. Not bad but hardly the stuff of t

As I said to someone else I don't think the fans would have had Sam again...Not that he would have taken it..And would we have been any worse under Duncan than we are at the moment ?...It's just a case of getting behind the team and see what happens

….i find this romanticism about Ferguson totally bemusing. He struts around FF like he owns the place, he offers nothing yet has a job for life on a massive salary and subject to misguided hero worship.

Folk need to get real.

Yes - you have to judge over a period of games rather than just the Burnley game.

The players haven't done him any favours - shocking individual errors, but he picks the teams, and he keeps picking guys like Kenny, Coleman. Kept Townsend, Patterson out. And I'm sorry but Gordon while he's tried hard - has no end product for now, and shouldn't be playing every week, def deserves a few games though.

No one can supply a cross to DCL. Richarlison only really played wider tonight, which is a better position for him. Iwobi has been good the last couple of games.
But just too many errors at the back. Players still can't defend crosses. All this talk about Paul Clement being a good coach may be true, but we haven't seen any improvement. The Chelsea assistant probably never worked with such horrible players.

We needed to stop leaking goals, but we shipped so many under Frank.

Think what you like...But wouldn't you like to see some of his passion in the team right now

I agree, there is no information to say whether Duncan would or wouldnt be a good coach because he's never taken a head job.

I don't think he wants to manage Everton, if he did he would have gone out to get experience long ago, and he's basically the kitman, but holds a clipboard and gets to warm Frank's seat.

Benitez was the biggest mistake in the clubs history, Lampard has grabbed the wheel while we were already spiraling out of control at 100 mph on ice in the fog.

The damage was done before he arrived.

While everyone is waiting for a shiny new stadium just remember that these 2 clowns up above wont leave until its complete so that's another 2 years of them driving this club into oblivion. with clueless decisions, by that time its quite possible we might not be in this league or the league below.

We've had injuries as well. But as you say Clement is supposed to be a top coach..But our defending has been shameful. Its not all down to individual errors, and they come from confidence

what is going on with all these weird unnecessary threads? eagerly waiting for was not hiring vitor a mistake? thread next
