Would we have been better giving the job to Duncan until the end of season ?
It was just a question I put out therewhat is going on with all these weird unnecessary threads? eagerly waiting for was not hiring vitor a mistake? thread next
I love Duncan. He bleeds blue and he’s an honorary Scouser as far as I’m concerned. But what managerial experience has Duncan got? A few matches as caretaker? Shoot me down in flames for saying this but we should have re-appointed the guy who took us from just above the relegation zone to 8th spot a few years ago - Big Sam.
Maybe Frank thought Mina,Keane, Godfrey,Holgate would be Ok.But we defo needed a Def/mid to go with AlanNothing against Lampard and if our squad wasn’t so rancid I think he’d been the right man.
He’s been desperately unlucky with injuries and suspensions since he got here. If Mina had stayed fit we’d have a lot more points right now.
Then again, all teams have hard luck stories. It’s about making your own luck. The players of this squad were just too weak, to disinterested and too limited.
Having said that, and I don’t know to what extent this was Lampards fault, the January recruitment was completely wrong. Everyone knew we needed defensive solidity, not flair players. We should have gotten a center half and/or a defensive midfielder in. Dele, el Ghazi and vdb have had no impact what so ever.
And selling Digne, Jesus Christ, who in Gods name authorized that? Criminal.
As I've read on other threads..We haven't been happy since Moyes left..No patience with managers... Look at Silva at Fulham.I know it's the championship...But what could could he have done with time and moneyThis is on us, we wanted him and forced the board to listen to us. The board wanted that Victor guy who was waiting to be announced.
The Lampard decision yes, however the predicament we're in is the board's. Thinking objectively, would Pereira have done enough to save us?This is on us, we wanted him and forced the board to listen to us. The board wanted that Victor guy who was waiting to be announced.
People keep say no its the players.
Its both.
He might turn out to be alright, but will it be 8n the PL? I can’t see where the next po8nt is coming from, I want a manager that’s doing it here and now not turn out alright sometime in the future.Lampard will turn out alright ..... once the squad is fixed. Booting him out or hounding him now will be the mistake. This position we are in has been a perfect storm of injury after injury of a paper thin squad combined with a succession of dodgy VAR and referee decisions throughout the season.
