"Watch Classic Matches Again"

All winners, just needed a manager to get them playing for each other. It's when you look back to that side now you realise what a bloody good side that was and what great balance we had.
Just a pity we couldn't make the next step macca,we should have qualified for europe again the following season only for Denis soddin'Bergkamp to goose it for us,all fell apart in those half a dozen games culminating in Bradford, still think PJ was too quick to fire Big Joe,we should have finished the season, regrouped and gone again IMHO.

Was a great win Dario. I was in the Spurs end blatantly applauding us throughout but they took it well. That team could play but that night was about sheer will to win. We had the Indian sign over Spurs at that time.
We did allez,it was a great feeling literally going anywhere(even the tinmine;))not feeling we had a divine right to win but knowing we had a bloody good chance,oh for those days to return:)

Spot on mate and like you said it unravelled so quickly it ended before we had begun. We had the makings of a really good side and some patience was needed. Go through that side Dario and there were big personalities in it like -

Southall
Watson
Abblett
Horne
Stuart
Ferguson

Mix that with Unsworth, Parkinson, Hinchcliffe, Jackson and the flair of Limpar and work rate of Rideout and unpredictability of Amokachi and that's a bloody good group of players.

I loved Dave Watson, massive fan of his as a player and captain. Our current side have much more skill about them but they are lacking what every team who wins trophies has and that's mental strength coupled with a desire to win. That's why we've gone 20 years without a trophy imo

Me too macca, like Mick Lyons before him Dave would have run through a brick wall for us,I'd love us to bring him home and teach our defence "old school"defending!!
