"Watch Classic Matches Again"

I think the tv broadcasters switched to the Bullens Road after the completion of the main stand in 1971. Almost all of the tv material from Goodison up to then including the 1966 World Cup was filmed from the old main stand.

As AB says there's quite a bit of internal footage shot from the Main Stand well into the 80's.

In the days before near blanket live tv coverage of football, in the 1980s the club used to record every home game and sell VHS copies of the full 90 minutes of every home game.

How did I never know this? Thanks, must find out where any copies exist..

Here's the advert that used to appear in all the 1986/87 home programmes (from nearly 30 years ago... this makes me feel so old!):

Dario, you jogged my memory of Colin Todds debut season, we were away to the RS, I was in the Anfield road end. Todd got into trouble trying
to play out from the back, Mick Lyons ran over and booted the ball out for a reds corner, then went over to Todd slapped his face (a real slap)
and gave him a bollocking, how Todd never retaliated I'll never know? Todd was pure class with no heart and Mick was the opposite.
