Watches

yeah I'll take your word on that mate, i've not really followed the watch market that closely, I looked at Rolex but I didnt really fancy anything other than maybe the cosmograph but didnt like it twice as much as the Breitlling (as it is twice the price). The Rolex was probably a better 'investmet' but I didnt buy it for that. I do like the Breitling range and that's all that matters to me, I dont have to impress anyone .
If you're getting offered steel Daytonas then either you must be one hell of a customer or the market has tanked that off the street customers can nip in and pick one up.

I hope it's the latter as surely that's better for customers in general.

I'd not made an enquiry mate, was just looking on their website to see what I fancied, a lengthy wait would also be a reason not to buy one in spite of that being a sign it would be abetter 'investment'. Nice though they are.

I've always wanted a Navitimer. I think they look amazing!

Why do people not like Breitling?
I think in snobby watch world it's to do with the movements not being as top notch as Rolex et al, and the image used to be a bit for wide boy/city boy types. TBH, the movement may not be as good as a Rolex one but its perfectly fine for me, I'm not sure I would be able to tell the difference, also I think the original company went bust and a new company bought their name so they lost aa bit of the heritage in some peoples eyes. Not mine, that just how branding works.

As was touched on earlier on, I think the Breitling image is being turned around a bit and they are a company improving

I was with a colleague this week and he had a Navi, it looked very good. I quite like the superocean ones with the brighter colours which would be great for a day to day tool
I think superocean and Navitimer are a normal type of understated watch. Imo it's the massive chunky steel watches that damage the image. You see the guys in JD sports buying 110's wearing them. Real or fake!! 🤣

Like these..

A friend of mine has bought a super clone (insert lots of numbers). It is the PP Nautilus. I tell you what I am sure alot of people would be fooled that it is the real thing. He paid approx £600. Anyone else know anything about these super clones?

They are just fancy fakes. Unless your friend is living a lifestyle were it would not be unusual to wear a 60k plus watch, then everyone will know it's a fake. Fair play if he's open about it and not misleading anyone, otherwise it's a bit sad.

That's not even getting into the fact that it's a criminal offence to deal in knock offs and all that entails.

I suspect that these high price knock off Rolexes which are 1:1 and even have clones of the original movements are much harder to distinguish from the original, but at that point, why not buy a decent non-knock off watch and not worry about having a brand of watch which is more than you can, or are wiling, to pay for?
