Watches

I’ve got 2 an every day and a dress.

My everyday is an Omega Speedmaster 35th Annivsary of Apollo 11 special edition. I could do with sending it off to have the glass and bracelet replaced to be honest.

My dress is an IWC Chronograph Automatic in Rose gold. Don’t wear that to often though
Both stunners.. that back of the omega is too cool… surprised how much I liked that IWC.. I think the white face is best.. trying to imagine the black face although I’m sure it works

While it's no G-shock, I believe Timex Ironman and Timex Marathons come in smaller sizes; they are decent.

Having worn an Ironman for about 15 years, I can say that the only thing guaranteed to outlast an Ironman is the smell of that Ironman.

But these are very functional, not keeper watches, although at the price they're hard to beat.

The issue I've been facing recently is I want to wear my Torgoen but I don't want to take off my Garmin and lose the data... I may need to upgrade to a nicer Garmin for "every day" wear...

Cheers Blue, there’s a 40th and 50th anniversary version of the watch and I’m sure they all have a different back. To be fair the black face IWC is lovely, they didn’t have it in the shop that I went to though and in the flesh the rose gold with the brown strap is really nice

@verreauxi - Since I'd never used the app before and wasn't paying too much attention since the numbers weren't catastrophic, my dumb a$$ was looking in the wrong column (deviation instead of rate)...it's even better than I thought! For reference, I've been wearing 24/7. Even if you don't avg it, the "rate" is almost unbelievable. Wish it had a display caseback so I stopped wondering if someone replaced the movement with quartz.

You know how it goes though, just the luck of the draw...it does make me want to press my luck with Orient again!

This is a crazy reading, in a good way. Those engineers at Seiko really know how to make a movement. I'm gonna download that app as I've never used it.

And do they earn £100k a year? It would be foolish to buy and wear a watch like those unless you were very well off..
The rule used to be don't spend more than a week's earning on a watch. Seems like sensible advice on many discretionary purchases.

I just put a bid in on a 1967 Seiko. What can I say, I won't pay more than a day's earnings.
