Watches

On par with my comment above about watch companies using a fairly basic movement and charging an arm and leg for it, here is my new Tag. I've never owned a Tag before, but this new version of an 80s classic was very appealing. It has a Selita movement SW200-1 (which is a basic generic movement, and as far as I can tell, Tag does very little modification to the movement), but the overall design of the watch is really cool to me. The rubber strap and clasp are especially well done, and the 12-sided bezel is quite cool.

Thanks! I always liked the Aquaracer design, but the new changes they made in 2021 are excellent changes (moving the date window to 6, eliminating some of the text on the dial, reducing the size of the hour markers, making the font on the bezel smaller, etc.) that made a great design far less cluttered. And this particular model with the luminous dial was really appealing. It will be my "field" watch that I take on research trips.

Likes a watch, apparently...pretty sure I've seen a blue AP Royal Oak. Not sure about this one...almost looks like a Flieger of some sort, which makes sense for the touchline.

He wears a PP aquanaut, a 5070, and a nautilus, as well as a Richard Mille but this is none of these. He's got some seriously nice watches. I've sent a query to my watch forum just for kicks.
