I see some resemblances (after, it's hard to deviate from the "look" of a dive watch) but the hands, bezel width, date-window location, and lack of helium escape valve are all pretty different.

Haha...indeed. I'm actually thinking about re-buying that lovely Casio Oceanus that I already bought from him and sold. Apart from salivating over all the GS quartz/mechanical modelsMr. Kobayashi's become a problem for me...lol
