Transfer Rumour Wayne Rooney

Lolz.

FIFA millennial generation strikes again. Let's forget Koeman's vast playing and managerial experience and Steve Walsh's knowledge of the game and his acclaimed eye for spotting talent for these two jokers who have a boss team on ultimate FIFA and Football manager 2016.

They Sky Plus soccer AM so know which player has the tekkers. They also spend extensive hours scouting as mummy cooks them all meals so they devote time to FIFA online.

Honestly I don't reckon you should be allowed on the internet if you couldn't spot that that was a little joke. Good grief man, take it easy.

He isn't an Evertonian though! He obviously was once. I do not see any way as to how he improves us. A younger version yeah of course, but not now. he is no different from a Rademel Falcao or a Fernando Torres, great players back in their day but I wouldn't want them now.

If he stayed where he was or moved elsewhere then no I don't have a grudge, if he comes back then yes I do. he moved for his career, fine, he now wants to come back once his career is over and he has done everything he wanted to do. Brilliant. lets put a massive banner up of him on the side of the main stand for our massive evertonian overlord. In fact sod it, lets name the new stadium after him. He deserves it after him deeming us worthy of his abilities for a season or two after his proper career has finished.

Have you seen him play lately like?

A classic example of great player written off too soon, 24 goals in 30 games this season, including 6 in the CL

i think the move here would benefit his career more than it would benefit us. The media would be utterky shocked by that.

He also is nowhere near as bad as the media point out, he's just a lot worse than he was at his peak. He's not a terrible player, people just view how far he's fallen as opposed to how much better he is than other players.

£15m, no more, get it done i'd say

Perhaps he wants a coaching position after he's retired, a la Duncan. It's only conjecture of course, but where better? 2/3 years in the twilight of his career, then move upstairs as it were.

i think he'd happily retire straight away and go and watch games in the stands and he'll get fairly big quite soon. In a similar way to southall, i don't think rooney has the drive to be a coach if i'm honest.

Rooney is more of an Evertonian than me and the majority of posters on here.

He has sweat blood and tears to be were he is right now. He has had the honour of playing in the Everton shirt and worked hard to achieve that.

The majority of you turncoats just boo or slate players off on a forum and claim to be Evertonians.

He worked his way through the ranks here and has become the top scorer for England and Manchester United. Would he have won all the honours if he stayed? The answer would be no.

Did we have to sell Wayne to keep the wolves From the door?? Yes.

That transfer benefitted us, Wayne and United.

If he comes back he will be a boost for commercial exposure. You all say we need to bring in better sponsorship deals and expand the Everton brand in foreign markets, well Wayne is the man to do that. He is a global superstar, and a true blue to boot.

Most disconcerting, found myself agreeing with a few of your posts lately, what have you done with the real moomin who posts animals humping gifs?

Yes, Wayne.

Here's the guff.

Everton target Rooney return

Everton will intensify their efforts to recruit Wayne Rooney in the summer, having failed in an attempt to sign the Manchester United captain in January.

A loan offer was rebuffed by United last month but Everton will return at the end of season in the hope of luring the England captain back to his boyhood club.

The Goodison Park club continued their charm offensive yesterday with the manager, Ronald Koeman, saying that the 31-year-old would make “Everton stronger”.

Last week Rooney announced that he would be staying at Old Trafford despite interest from the Chinese Super League, where he was being offered at least £750,000 a week. Yet his future beyond the summer remains unclear. Rooney was an unused substitute in United’s 3-2 EFL Cup success over Southampton at Wembley on Sunday.

He left Everton in 2004 to move to Old Trafford and Koeman’s latest pronouncement made clear his intention to try to smooth the way for Rooney to make a return journey.

“I believe that Wayne Rooney is still playing at a high level,” the Dutchman said. “I think he made a good choice to stay at Manchester United and in the Premier League because he has still two or three years in front of him to play on a high level.

“What will happen at the end of the season? I don’t know, but in my opinion he is one of the players who can make Everton stronger. It’s all about what the player likes, what Manchester United needs to do, and we are not involved in that project. But every player that we at Everton think can make the team stronger is welcome to Everton.”

Keane, the Burnley centre back, is a target for Everton
Rooney earns about £300,000 a week at United and if Romelu Lukaku signs his new contract he will become Everton’s highest-paid player on about £140,000 a week.

Everton’s major shareholder, Farhad Moshiri, boasts ambitious plans for Everton and is prepared to bankroll a major spending spree this summer. They are targeting the best young talent from around the country, with Burnley centre back Michael Keane another Koeman target.

The Everton director of football, Steve Walsh, further fuelled the courtship in a bid to make Rooney feel wanted by saying his capture would be “euphoric”.

“Wayne Rooney is one of the greatest players that has ever played the game in England and for us not to be interested would be wrong,” Walsh said.
