Transfer Rumour Wayne Rooney

I get how lids are still upset but that was beards ago, he was young a tit with it. Many of us probably were similar.

I'd rather have Rooney to bring on than Kone, and as cover in case Lukaku does get injured.

Rooney would be an iconic signing for attracting new players, if you don't believe me then look at what our star striker just said about wanting to play with him.

The likes of Barkley, Lookman and Davies will learn from his vast experience.

Koeman rightfully isn't intimidated by anyone's reputation and won't tolerate anything less than full fitness and focus while wearing a blue shirt. Rooney will be very aware of that so if he did want to head back to Everton on those terms it would indicate he still has hunger and maybe something to prove.

I wish he wouldn't have left. Or at the least gave us a few years more. I still think he's a tit for kissing the badge. I do have concerns about how much it will cost us and the impact on other players.

But when I balance it all up there's a lot more pros from bringing Wayne Rooney back to play for Everton.

Each to their own but I reckon there'll be a lot of apppeasement when he lashes a winner in the Gwladys Street.

Suppose we will see. On saying that I change my mind too often on whether it's a good thing or not.

Good post mate, love how the majority against him coming back are using what a lad did at 18/19 to castigate him for eternity. Christ I was an utter nob at that age, most People are. If he does come back, which looks likely, then the pasts the past.

It would only fade if he was a quality player, man u fans are saying he finished, how would the Everton relate to this.
A Manure STH I work with who absolutely loves the club, thinks Rooney still has plenty to offer as a striker but thinks he would benefit from a change, he was also gutted we got Schneids.

so was i and i still am.. but never in a million years would i kiss a manc badge at Goodison
yes i agree its time to move on now because it was that long ago but forgive? nah not me.

I seen the best of Rooney when he was 22. In fact, in his twenties he was the best player in the country but now it is slightly different. If he comes back at 32, we will have a maximum of two seasons out of him, so in total, four seasons. Two seasons either side of his best.

Answer this question, would he come here if he was United's first choice striker?

Koeman saying he wants him doesn't make it any more likely. We can't and won't meet his demands, and we shouldn't.

The problem with the 'It's not your money' angle is that the money pot is not infinite. Every penny spent on Rooney is money no longer available to purchase or retain better players. I don't want him, his time is up. And as for the guff about him being a Blue, so was Gerrard when he was a kid. I'm waiting on the "Bring Slippy Home" call.

Honestly, got no idea how I'd react myself mate I'd I was getting an absolute shedload of abuse from fellow evertonians, and unless they've been in that situation I don't think anyone can really know if they'd have done similar. Still hate the fact he did it, but I do understand why.

Stop trying to pretend you are some type of super fan.

Wayne is more of an Evertonian than you. How many years have you spent playing in the Everton youth team? How much blood and sweat have you gave for the shirt?? Probably none.

If you'd disown your son for doing what Rooney did then your life has more problems than pretending to be a super fan really.

The evertonian thing is largely irrelevant, as a player he'd improve the team/squad a lot, from a wider perspective signing him would increase our exposure abroad hugely. The evertonian thing will just be a angle that loads of journalists will be able to write lots of copy using, the only tangable effect may be the player finds himself hugely motivated and has a Indian summer with us for a couple of seasons.

I have nothing against Rooney, he is a player who used to play for us but moved on.
I don't think weshould bring him back because we are a club looking forward, not a club looking back.
Unless we buy him for purely business reasons and can turn a profit on his name then I would spend the fee and wages elsewhere.
