Transfer Rumour Wayne Rooney

Massive yes, please. Free transfer and 150k wages is absolutely ok for me.

Rooney needs 124 minutes to record a goal or an assist this season. Other attacking players in top teams needs this number of minutes:
Gabriel Jesus 59, Giroud 69, Lucas Perez 74, Sanchez 77, Iheanacho 84, Kane 87, Lukaku 91, Pedro 92, Aguero 96, Ibrahimovic 99, Fabregas 102, Son 103, Lamela 105, Sterling 107, Costa 113, Walcott 113, Mane 119, Nolito 120, Eriksen 121, Alli 122, Coutinho 135, Martial 137, Mkhitaryan 137, Ozil 142, Willian 148, Hazard 151, Mata 151, Sane 155, Firmino 156, De Bruyne 158, Oxlade-Chamberlain 158, Cazorla 171, Mirallas 192, Iwobi 198, Barkley 203, Rashford 207, David Silva 213, Toure 220, Bolasie 233, Pogba 293, Navas 296.

So I think Rooney is doing quite well.

Still only 31 years old and he would be here with a motivation to win something for this club. A winner. Perfect type of signing to make early in the summer. Statement signing. Would be a great start of a big summer show we really need to keep both Lukaku and Barkley.
I wonder if we'll go back in for Lucas Perez as well.

Brilliant quote

No thanks - pay £10k more per week than we are offering Lukaku for a player who left Everton 13 years ago and has scored fewer goals in the league in the last 3 years than Lukaku has scored this season - hardly showing the ambition that Lukaku suggested we need to show

This has been said to death, but deep down I'm sure it would mean more to Rooney to win a trophy with us than with Utd.

He could have gave us a few more years and tried it then. He could have gave us another 4 years and still had time to win everything at utd. Even another 2 years and I don't think anyone would have resented him going. We all knew at the time he would outgrow where we were as a club.

Kenwright would have resented him staying 2 more years

Nah it's not, it's only naive insular blues who think that this doesn't show ambition.

It means a great deal to the wider world
Or maybe people see us wasting millions on a player whose well past it.

It is possible that koemans fitness team can get him back to something rooney used to resemble, but that's a gamble. Gamble on a free transfer earning 40k a week, not 150k a week.

It's burning my head out to see people wanting him back because he's a superstar player. Were not Oldham hoping to get Scholes back for 1 season for a bit of glamour, or celtic trying to entice Roy Keane back for the bhoys. Were everton. One of the biggest and most successful clubs in England. We finally have a board with money and ambition, a manager who has a plan and a team going places. Why on earth would we want spud head back because he's a fading star?

[Poor language removed] him. He left when we werent good enough. Now he's not good enough for us.
