Transfer Rumour Wayne Rooney

Some players still have it in their locker to carry on into their mid thirties and I see Rooney in the same category.

He would be a great marketing asset for the club also as he is a worldwide name.

Free transfer? It's a yes from me.

Think what the likes of Barkley and Davies would learn from him.

Koeman does seem like the sentimental type - if he brings Rooney back he does so because he thinks he'll add to the team and improve us - not just a gimmick.
I also think with England, a major tournement next year and the chance to be part of something special at his boyhood club we could possibly get a couple of big seasons out of him.

I imagine if Rooney signed it would encourage Ross to sign a new contract if he currently has any doubts.

Anyway, if it's a free transfer at £150,000 a week I think it's a no-brainer. Still has something to offer and coming back to us could reinvigorate him for a couple of years.

Doesn't seem rather!

just think the wages we'd save from ditching the clev kone and niasse would get us rooney ( if reports are to be believed ) he'd offer more to the first team then all 3 of them clowns combined, NO BRAINER
And if he's willing to take an almost 50% pay cut to come back that speaks volumes. He could quite easily go to the States or China for 1-2 years and earn 3 times what we can/will offer.

yes let's break our wage structure to accommodate a 31 year old who isn't good enough to start for his current club.

His wages will be offset by any and all commercial opportunities his return will provide, it's a no brainer if it's to be believed. I think there will be benefits on the playing side also as having someone with his experience will rub off on others, especially if things do really start to kick into gear with Everton. Tomorrow's anticipated stadium announcement will be the acid test of our ambition IMO.

The thought of Barkley (fingers crossed), Davies and Rooney does excite me rather! especially more so if Lukaku stays another year.
