We are a football club trying to get ourselves into the top four in our league, why would we buy a player who can't get a place on another football team who are trying to get into the top four in our league.
We need top quality players not vanity projects.
Playing Champions League football will heighten our profile far more than buying a player who is past his best.
Absolutely.

Entirely different situation, one is a player in his prime who didn't fit a system and was immediately dropped from view, the other is a player, albeit one who was very very good, who now has too many miles on the clock who was tried out in a number of positions to try to accommodate him.
Rooney has been great for Man Utd and us but but 15 years of Premier League football has taken its tole

Not injured as far as i thought,a few years ago though there was a man utd game on a sunday that he was given as been "injured" when in truth he was at a christening by Broadway and not injured at all

If he's injured, it doesn't mean he is utterly incapacitated and can't move though does it.

Loads of injured players don't go to the game.

But you would expect most to be part of the squad on a match day etc like so many[plus he wasnt injured],not that i care if they turn up or not

Bolasie doesn't, just as an example. He does media work, or watches the match from home. He's pretty senior now so he'll be given more rope

Yep. I mentioned before he's probably had a word with Jose and threw his dummy out. So he's 'injured'

I have the feeling that Rooney's over Untd and is already in 'holiday' mode.
Where ever he ends up it would make no difference to him if he never set foot in OT again until it's all done and dusted.

As long as there's no transfer fee, and Rooney takes a massive pay cut it'll be a good move by the club. He's a global brand, and with Moshiri and his marketing contacts we'll make use of it.

Rooney will never be able to continue the way Barry has. He's now only capable of being a bit part player, you won't get a full season out of him.

If there is a nominal fee I would rather use it on Valencia, Rooney has had his day, it's not like we need his brand to sell match day tickets

Indeed.

Didn't make him any use though.

Is Rooney injured currenty?

Eto's touch, vision , passing and finishing was better than anyone else at the club when he was here... I couldn't believe how small he was compared to seeing him on tv for Barca etc... but he was a winner and he sussed el fraudo out straight away... also he is a complete mercenary lol
