Transfer Rumour Wayne Rooney

Whether we sign him or not i hope it's all done quickly. Whether he moves to the States/China or he comes back to us please let it happen early and not drag out all summer.

I get the idea of progression and moving forward. We all want that, we want to be getting better every year and winning stuff, and there is question marks over Rooney's ability to play at the level we want to be playing at next season.

All that aside, for anyone who does not hold resentment towards Rooney, Is the deal worth it for the fairy tale style of season we could have? It isn't our money paying him so as long as we pay other new players then fair enough on that front. Just from a fan perspective, or yearning for being a 10 year old on the terraces, how good would next season be if Rooney came back, scored goals, downed them lot, scored the winner at old trafford, played a part in getting champions league football or winning a trophy?

all fantasy based ideas i must admit but would it not make any achievement a little bit more special to have Rooney help us get there? (anti rooney fans need not apply there)

It would be great for rooney, barkley and davies to have achieved that, as well as stalwarts like Baines and jagielka to have won something at this club, but ultimately the fairy tale will be for the fans who have not seen us win anything for decades. Ive never seen us win anything.

that could happen but more likely scenario is the fans turn on him when they realise hes useless and stuggles to run, contributes nothing and makes the team worse.

If you take out his goal against Burnley which was a Michael Keane own goal, he's actually scored 1 less in the Premier League than Phil Jagielka this season.
