I'm in two minds, I sort of want it to happen because a part me wants to believe that he will refind his form (not expecting peak Rooney levels obviously) and regain new found enthusiasm due to playing for the club he loves.

But then I think that he's probably already trying his best at United and that no amount of love for Everton can override ageing.

It really wouldn't be. Gazza & Ginola were both mid 30s. Rooney is 31.

IF he signs he will play really well on what will be his 2nd debut but will then gradually decline until 12 months later the likes of you start saying he needs binning off as he's past it.

When he was pushed to the ground in their game against Burnley and was sitting in the ground he looked like mother in laws pug sitting on the sofa. Definitely had belly.

Everyone bangs on about Marquee signings and in today's game with no Champions League football Rooney is about as close to a Marquee signing we are likely to be able to make. Rooney is a global name in football and respected as a player throughout the world. He brings a wealth of experience and winning mentality that our young players would benefit from hugely. Has to make financial sense though, no good if he blows the budget.
