..I agree with everybody who suggest a move to China doesn't make sense for a number of reasons but I was told last month that Stretford was out there tying up a 2 year deal. We should debate the merits and risks of this transfer the same way we do for any other. One camp is basically saying we shouldn't be bringing up any of the potential positives and the other camp saying we shouldn't discuss the downsides. Being an Everton supporter didn't factor into Wayne's decision all those years ago and it shouldn't be a factor in deciding whether to recruit him now. If RonKo things he will improve us then fine. Rooney will have to deal with the baggage of the past and the expectation that comes with the hype and his huge wages and he shouldn't expect special favours from the support.

I'm honestly not arsed either way on it.

If he comes, I personally think he'd improve us - or definitely still has the quality to do so.

If not, and he goes elsewhere/stays at utd, then it's not gonna be a massive miss for us either I suppose.

But willing to wait and see before passing judgement on any rumoured signings really.

Obviously he he has accumulated some Weasel Points here but they are just natural as he puts out his ITK feelers, we know these can be expunged as soon as Wayne signs on the dotted line in Shanghai or wherever, he is not a confirmed Weasel in the mould of banned poster and disgusting swearer @bluesb1970 with Pelligrini/ St Albans as an example, in truth I believe @Eggs and feel he will be vindicated

We all, yourself included, speculate on rumoured signings. The only difference with this once is the emotional tone of the arguments rather than the usual FIFA or squawka stats based tone.

I just think Rooney gets particular scrutiny, undeservedly so imo.

As a player he stlll has something to offer us.
