Transfer Rumour Wayne Rooney

He wouldn't be. Man U will finish the season one place and a handful of points ahead of us and he can't get near their first choice 11, you have a very low opinion of our current squad and that, in my view, isn't based on any objective facts.
Neither could Schneiderlin. Neither can Martial and to a point Mata. They'd all (and one has) walk into our first 11. Rooney would be my last choice out of the players mentioned above but there are plenty of players not getting a sniff at United that would immediately improve us.

Really don't want him anywhere near the club.

We are meant to be progressing. Rooney is regressing at an alarming rate.

I can just see us giving him a 4 year deal and after next season he is just a fat lump of lard coming on for the last ten minutes whilst earning the biggest wage in our history.

Either I'm badly mistaken or Rooney is so far past his best that we'd be completely blind to sign him and if we must then for one year (at a time) but I'm guessing Luvvy will offer him a 4 year deal.

whether he comes back or sods off to the States it needs to happen before pre-season training starts. It can't be dragged out all summer. If he's going to be part of our club again he needs a full and strict pre-season.

On a free, 2 year deal. It'd give him a new lease of life for at least a season. China and USA will still be there next summer for him if he still turns out to be gash. Why not aye!

If we have to pay substantial proper money though then swerve.

3 goals in 5 Premier League Games at the start of the season. Next 9 appearances in which he played over 27 minutes in a match (only 3 games he played more than 27 minutes) he also scored 3 goals. Hamstring, ankle and knee injuries meant he managed 45 minutes only twice in the league between boxing day and mid-april.

Since April 23rd he has played 5 times in the league, managing 90 minutes 4/5 times and has scored 3 goals.

He has also scored 4 goals in 8 combined appearances in the Europa League and FA Cup this season.

Washed up ? I don't think so. He is 31.

Wrong. He has scored one (penalty) and assisted two own goals.

Schneiderlin is 27, Martial is 21 and Mata was a regular starter before he got injured. Rooney is 31, has loads of miles on the clock, is naturally a husky lad and has been on the slide for at least two years. He's not as bad as some on here make out but he is also not the player to revive our fortunes or some sort of returning messiah as some others would have us believe. If he wasn't a boyhood blue there would be no clamour to sign him up.

£7.5m a year in wages. Minimum. Not a good investment.
