Yes his wages are massive, but the only way this happens is if he takes a minimum 50% cut anyway.

Gareth Barry was struggling to get near the City 1st team...doesnt mean he'd become a bad player.
Manager wanted to play another way/didnt fancy him.
I think Rooney would be exactly the same with a manager that has faith in him.Wether thats with us or China / MLS is another thing.

Gareth Barry has never relied on his pace to play his game. He was also coming from a side that has just won the league.

Rooney is struggling to get into sides that are not that good currently and will only decline with age due to how he played his game for most of his career.

The biggest issue with Rooney though (other than he left us the first chance he got) is how divisive he would be for the fans.

He really is not worth it.

If youre on a few hundred grand a week you won't be talking to locals or walking the pavement wherever you are. There are enough luxury brands in China for Coleen to waste her time and a lot more beautiful scenery than Manchester.
