Trying hard for team? Working for the team is sticking to your position and being brave showing for the ball. Not dropping to the half way line so you can collect it with no pressure. Unfortunately the lad cant do any wrong in some peoples eyes

He's shown flashes of being a good squad option, he should not be starting every week.

Problem is which position? The one the fans want him to play in, the one he wants to play in or the one that Koeman has told him to play in? Because they might be all totally different. For me this is the main issue, we dont look like we have a plan and the players, including Rooney, dont seem to have a set role in the side.
If he has a position and isnt sticking to it has RK pointed this out to him?

No he's not. As expected, he's getting treated with special kid gloves just like we all thought he would by the super blooz that just can't bring themselves to look at a local lad's performances fairly and objectively.

Play him in place of Schneiderlin at CM, seems to spend most of the match there anyway.

..I feel some folk are continually looking to blame individual players for the early season demise but Rooney has been fine and at least plays like the game matters. I personally feel the problem lies with poor tactics and formation. Good footballers don't necessarily make a good team, they need to be organised in effective partnerships where individuals compliment each other.

I'd happily slate him when he plays poorly, which he has done at times. But our issues stop at the manager's tactics in my opinion.

As a person I'm sure Wayne is an alright lad to get a pint with, but as an Everton player I'm pretty sure I hate him. Koeman's tactics compound the issue.
