2017/18 Wayne Rooney

Out of West Brom or Leicester if he was going to play one I would have chose West Brom but the man with a head like a blown up Yorkshire Pudding thinks he’s more suited to Leicester who won’t allow him time on the ball.

Excellent work.

I know he’s lost his pace but he still has an eye for goal. Why can’t he stay up top and drift around Tosun. He wouldn’t be the first number 10 lacking pace. The further he comes back when in that role the more his pace is exposed.

You could say the same about most strikers. Lukaku cost nearly 100m and yet I have never seen a striker more goals when a game is already won than him.
We would still have finished seventh last season without any goal from Lukaku which is amazing.
I don't think we would be where we are without the Rooney goals.
Please don’t compare Rooney to Lukaku.

Rooney doesn’t belong in the Premier League and it is to our detriment that we’re stuck with him for another year.

At this point, since he has 10 goals, if BFS is serious about not playing both Rooney and Siggurdson at the same time, Rooney has to be starting unless he gets spelled for fatigue.

Gueye
Bolasie Sigurdsson Lookman
Tuson Walcott

No need for that fat waste.
Agreed he is a fat waste, he sort of swans round the pitch now in a has-been cavalier sort of way now and we have to carry him by putting players with energy around him. And I wouldn't actually mind sacrificing Rooney to go two up top like you say. I said I'd like us to go two up top in another thread.

But if it is the two low lying central midfielders and one up front business we seem to have been insistent on playing for about the last 400 years, then for me Rooney has to play cos otherwise we won't look like scoring. He might give the ball away a lot but then so do all the players; the difference with Rooney is that the 1/10 he actually gets right is often a goal scoring opportunity or a goal.

All the games we've won under Sam, they've both been in the same team haven't they?

... Not counting Cyprus.
