We need the run-in atmosphere from last season for the Wolves game

And yeah

The players do need to do more, that's a given

But ultimately the only power we truly have as supporters is to provide the best atmosphere possible in order to glean a performance out of the players

It's not fair or justified that the responsibility is falling on our shoulders once again, but needs must

Don't think it's this mate.

More than what? None of them have ever done what we need them to do.

The players just aren't good enough;

The core of our team looks loads better with Coady, Tarkowski, and Gana/Onana (and maybe Garner) in front of them.

I've bored everyone with my view about our attack but I'll say it again - I think any three of any of McNeil, Gordon, Townsend, Gray, Rondon, Maupay and we struggle to be competitive enough to stay in this league. We'll be asking players to hit numbers for goals/assists that they've never hit before.

If we don't bring in anyone else to fill the void that Lampard has spoke about then IMO, we'll be in a position were the difference between a relegation scrap to the wire, or mid table comfort comes down to Calvert-Lewin's fitness IMO, and even then - we've lost his biggest providers. We don't create a lot - 19th or 20th for chances last season, and 18th so far this season.

This then, is absolutely no surprise to me;

There was fans actually thinking we'd finish top half this season. Top half - with that attack? Insane.

It's not about effort for me.

Take Richarlison out and last season we go down, fan effort or not.

That's us, now.

Indeed

At what point are the club going to repay the loyalty of the support, in particular the away fans who travelled a thousand miles this week to see us lose 7-1 to a crap team?
How exactly are you expecting them to repay the loyalty of those fans - If we win against Wolves does that help repay the loyalty of fans?

Its part of the deal supporting a club, that you run the good with the bad.

The decision not to sell Gordon is beginning to look increasingly like it might bite us. The prices quoted could've seen us balance the books and bring in more end product.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and we probably thought he'd kick on, but so far, his performances have been way below what's needed.

You can't turn it on and off like a tap. Fans dug into every bit of physical and emotional energy they had at the back end of last season because there was no other option. I was genuinely getting home from games absolutely drained from putting so much into it. You can't ask people to continue to provide that level of backing over the course of an entire season, it's just not feasible.

There's been some bus welcomes this season.

You're not going to get that level of intensity in the crowd all season.

The mistake we couldn't afford to make again was not signing any creativity or Calvert-Lewin replacement. That mistake can't be allowed to happen again in January. If it does, we deserve to go down.
I think we made a mistake not pushing more for Brereton Diaz. Other than spending huge amounts of money he would have been a good priced option..

Well, it's not just hindsight mate. We all thought what you've just said;

We had a bemused Lampard saying "who saw a Calvert-Lewin injury coming?" on the eve of the season, and loads of fans on here genuinely thinking when the window shut that we did alright.

I hoped we'd stay out the bottom 3 and hope the world cup break/January coming would save our arse - that's happened. That's the best I hoped for. People need to look at our attack and give their heads a wobble.

The only thing saving us from relegation is some creativity/attack coming in immediately in January.

I don’t believe the prices quoted in the media were a true reflection of the bids we received.

Even Lampard laughed at the figures when asked about it.

What are you a fan for if not this?
In all honesty mate, I expect well paid, prima donnas to put in a shift to get US on side, defo not the other way around, when we pay we pay from hard earned incomes to follow, I also expect nothing but blood sweat and tears from those on the pitch. This isnt happening.

Im pretty sure in some way the fans that were at both of those games against Bournemouth could spend their hard earned on other stuff but they and we choose to go, that IS our commitment. It would be nice if maybe some form of recognition of the cost they incurred were met by the club, it wont bt it would be nice!

I don't think we had a bad window, it's just that we seemingly had no money and had so many areas of the team to strengthen. But failure to get some creativity is seriously costing us.

The problem I think we have is a new manager in Jan upsets our plans, but do we have the faith in Lampard and the DOF to get us the creativity needed?

If you weren't getting the value you expected from something else in your life, what would you do?

If your car was knackered and you kept pouring your hard earned money into it, would you just keep doing it or would you get a new car?

These players will get paid well regardless of if they play for Everton or not. They'll be paid well regardless of you put your 'hard earned money' into supporting them. Question you need to ask is, why are you still putting money into it?

It’s the least they can do shower of useless fk ers. Thing is they earn far to much money these days absolutely bang average players earning obscene wages and they aren’t bothered one way or another they will move on while we’re left in the championship.
It's not though is it? They could do much worse.

They could drop into the championship and still be paid more in a month than some very paid in a year.
