We need the run-in atmosphere from last season for the Wolves game

You say that like it adds no pressure at all. 40000 fans all singing and chanting for you is a positive thing. 40000 groaning is not.
Don't make them groan.
If they are concentrating on the game, the groans pale into insignificance.
And the average 50k a week softens the blow.
If not they should jack it in.

If you weren't getting the value you expected from something else in your life, what would you do?

If your car was knackered and you kept pouring your hard earned money into it, would you just keep doing it or would you get a new car?

These players will get paid well regardless of if they play for Everton or not. They'll be paid well regardless of you put your 'hard earned money' into supporting them. Question you need to ask is, why are you still putting money into it?
That's the question all football fans ask themselves, and get asked all the time. I don't know why I still do it, I just do. Nothing about being a football fan is rational.

I think the squad we had last November (just because it had some creativity/thread in Digne/Richarlison), was more equipped at staving off relegation than the squad we have now.

I don't think we signed terrible players in the window, I just dont think we prioritised what I think needed prioritising to stay in the league. All I banged on about last season was how we don't create, and how we only created more than Norwich last season and how reliant we were on Richarlison who was involved in a third of our goals. We were never replacing him, but we never even tried to mitigate that.
I think a solid defence can do wonders in the PL. There are teams who regularly score poorly but they are solid and do well.

The balance between attacking threat and defence has to be there though otherwise you just invite teams onto you. Bournemouth are a good example - defensively poor all year. They knew we are toothless and so felt confident in attacking us..

Some more output from our forwards and I could see us doing well.

How exactly are you expecting them to repay the loyalty of those fans - If we win against Wolves does that help repay the loyalty of fans?

Its part of the deal supporting a club, that you run the good with the bad.
We already do! What's your point?

If something is a part of your inner being, then you can't give up on it easily.

You wouldn't give up on your family. And people don't give up on their football team.

It's hard to explain, and it's absolutely not rational, but we all feel the way we feel, and we can't change it. Just because I often wish I didn't care about Everton, doesn't mean I don't care.

Exactly. So, you either do everything you can to support the team or you give up.

There's little incentive for players to do it if the supporters don't support.

But that's the point. Because you care is why you keep doing it. The players don't care as much as the fans, they've not got the incentive to (in the main). What spurs them on is support and the fan connection.

That's why the fans need to treat this like we did last year. Support the team, will them on and give that boost.

Because generations of my Family have a long standing relationship with a Club we all love and want to succeed, its that simple.

You dont give up on something because its going awry. Not always anyway.

Its My Team, Its Our team, i hvae made a commitment to it.

Well then. What are your options?

More frustration and anger or support like the end of last year?
