We need the run-in atmosphere from last season for the Wolves game

It seems a fair enough request...why wouldn't fans want to recreate the atmosphere from last season's years run in? It made it far more memorable than any of those 1990s relegation scraps (for example). Yes, we don't want to be in this situation and the players need to do more themselves, but if we are in a fight, we may as well try our best to get out of it. If people want to sit in silence, fine, that's up to them. But I'd certainly welcome it again.

The decision not to sell Gordon is beginning to look increasingly like it might bite us. The prices quoted could've seen us balance the books and bring in more end product.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and we probably thought he'd kick on, but so far, his performances have been way below what's needed.
It wasn't the lack of a sale of one our better players. It was the cash spent on Maupay and McNeil. That was wasted and should have been paid to Blackburn to get Brereton-Diaz here.

I don't. I expect the players to. Will they...who knows?

Can fans influence it...yes. can they influence it positively and negatively - yes.

It's a choice which.
My point is simple, we already have, we already do, we already are. Seriously, what more do you expect from the fans?
The fans are already supporting. If we weren't, then your points would be good points, but we are, so this thread is pointless and negative.

McNeil has this far been a poor signing. But he's still young. Maupay I could understand given the expected squad status and his return from Brighton.

But we were clearly operating in a limited pool of players due to our finances. If we had sold, what has turned out to be, an underperforming Gordon, for the figures quoted, we may have altered that.

Maybe I've misinterpreted, but the thread was about recreation of the types of scenes, atmospheres like those at the end of last season.

That's still a possibility and one that requires no additional finance to achieve.

Gordon has been tasked with geting goals that's not in him. He needs to play off a striker as he did to good effect last season.

The cash we did have was thrown down the toilet, effectively.

I agree. The best buys we had were our CBs who cost peanuts. But as far as attacking threat goes, we have gambled imo.

On Gordon's output from wings, on DCLs fitness, on McNeil producing as yet unseen goals and assists, on Iwobi as our prime creator.

We have to address that in January.

Maupay needs to play in a proper 3 though and we just don't play like that so it kinda was a bit pointless, unless it was some sort of plan b option but I have never seen us yet even try and play with a proper 3 upfront so for me, yeah a bit pointless. Aside from Onana all the rest of our signings come with that 'PL experience tag' we could just finally get our recruitment sorted once and for all and explore the options out there like other clubs do, there are a whole world of players available and we should be a part of it instead of looking from the sidelines all the time and always going for the safe and easy options which have gotten us nowhere.
