I see no reason why we can't have 2 CDM, two wider midfielders and then a second striker.

It would keep us solid and allow one of our 3 to sit higher and it would stop Maupay being isolated.

If it doesn't work, we'll try something else. But presently our tactics aren't working anyway

If we cant win our next 3 home games I honestly hope the Premier League just relegates us.

It should be a straight drop to League Two.

He's more of a drifter around the last third creating space for others and linking up with a proper forward.

Gordon + Richarlison were a handful in games last season. We miss that combination.

I remember the famous 90s Milan side had a player who just drifted around and did nothing.

The backbone of every good side.

It wasn't the lack of a sale of one our better players. It was the cash spent on Maupay and McNeil. That was wasted and should have been paid to Blackburn to get Brereton-Diaz here.

No guarantees that Ben Brereton Díaz wouldn't have become the next Maupay (although still have hope there) Rondon, Niasse, Sandro, Kean etc. etc. Spending 20+ million when he is out of contract at the end of the year would have been silly.

Not spending £20M on him back then was false economy when our PL status is on the line.
