We need the run-in atmosphere from last season for the Wolves game

It's getting awfully tiresome having the expectation put on the supporters to motivate these wasters into playing half decent footy.

At a certain point everyone is going to not be arsed any more putting in the effort when they don't time and time again.

We either turn up and do our part to drag it out of them or we can enjoy Reading away next season

Burying heads in the sand or passing the buck to the players isn't going to work

We can still nip this in the bud. We waited too long last season. We can't afford to make that mistake again
Is it passing the buck onto the players? Really?

I mean they're the ones on the pitch paid handsomely to do a job. The onus going back on the support just encourages them not to bother showing up if the fans aren't screaming at them to do the basic things they're paid for.

I’m not sure we’ve got it in us again collectively, last season was horrendous and as others have said, I was done in after many games, both mentally and physically, and I know others were.

I thought the crowd would get going on bonfire night against Leicester - night game under the lights etc, but it never happened, most likely due to the crap performance. In fact, I saw loads of examples of fans kicking off at each other and arguing about the gash being served up, and felt the tide was turning a little against Frank then. After this weeks performances, I think the floodgates have started to open against him.

The players need to show us a proper positive reaction against Wolves on Boxing Day - that may reawaken the beast of Goodison, but for now it’s slumbering, and I don’t blame any fan for feeling fed up or not capable of giving everything when they get nothing back.

Frank needs to really get a tactical approach/set up knocked into them and drill them like he never has before.

Sadly, lopetegui has effectively a pre- season to get into wolves before the match, so we could see a very different, very motivated side face us.

I just hope they face a very different, very motivated Everton team - we have no room for passengers on the pitch. If they turn up, we turn up, it’s that simple.

Last season's fan effect was borne out of desperation and cack as it is at the moment we're not at that point just yet. Any repeat has to be real or we simply drift into Chelsea territory and their notorious plastic flags providing faux passion.

We're paying a manager £6 millions pound sterling a year to motivate and coach the side whilst we rely on fans who are stacking shelves at the Co-op on £9.50 an hour to do his job for him all whilst worshipping him as some kind of Southern Deity.

Lampard must be laughing his cock off at this fanbase at the moment I know I would be in his shoes.

This expectation on our match going fans to go above and beyond every single game all to compensate for a team that acts like they couldn't care less most of the time getting very tiresome. I'll still go the distance and keep trying but at what point do the players have to uphold their end of the bargain and give us something to cheer about? At what point do the millionaire wage thieves have to earn their keep?

Not spending £20M on him back then was false economy when our PL status is on the line.

I get that but say he came in and didn’t score and just sits on the bench, what would you be saying then when he would have been free in the summer? I don't think you'd have been happy.

Proven PL goalscorer like Ings (*shudders*) for 20 million is one thing, another punt hoping for the best might not be, especially when we have a long and deep history of it being more bad than good. We create very little so attacking players confidence is the first to go.

They did against Palace just a few weeks back. Now with a bit of lost confidence they need another push. We can be standoffish about the whole thing but end of the day, they get to go to a different club or retire. They don't really care what happens to Everton, we as supporters get left with the pieces. We need a result against Wolves badly, do we sit and complain or turn it into what it was last season?

If we do make it like that though for a few games and it has no effect then I'd completely understand supporters not going through the effort again.

We have to take chances.

£20M for Brereton-Diaz now looks like a good punt given his goalscoring this season.

We'll do the whole preforming seals act for the wage thieves again and maybe it'll make a difference for a few games but its not something that can be maintained. It just can't.

I agree with most of this but the atmosphere was flat from the kick-off vs Leicester...the fans didn't know the performance was going to be as flat as they were.

Yeah, can agree with that, a very un-Everton night match atmosphere, though we have had them before.

The thing that I was surprised at was the amount of murder and kick offs going on around me - more than I can remember for a good while in the top balc. Bit unpleasant at times, close to physical on more than one occasion.
