I think the difference is that this is a light hearted thread very much in keeping with the spirit of the forum. The subject and culture is one that the vast majority are personally familiar with, live among day in - day out and are very comfortable joking about.

Something tells me that the thread you propose wouldn't have quite the same qualities.

I am just back from Peurto Pollensa and I have to say English people are loud, more so southern English people. Everywhere I went you would hear southern English people talking louder than anyone else. The accent or the tone just seems to cut through the air more so than others. I could have just been near very loud English people a lot of the time, any thoughts.

I take it you've never heard the call of "I'M FROM NORRIS GREEN ME LAD" belted out around the pool?
