What a window!

...by the way, lets not forget what a top pro Leighton Baines has been through all of this. He must be tempted by the attention from Utd, yet he has sat on his hands, zipped his mouth and is still here. I think we need to brace ourselves that something could happen in the next window but there are not many of his type around.

Martinez said we'd finish the window stronger. Only time and results will be the judge of that, he gave it a good fist though.

We replaced certain players at least in the short term from last year like this.

Mucha - Robles
Neville - Barry
Hitzlsperger - McCarthy
Fellaini - Lukaku
Anichebe - Kone

And added Deulofeu and Alcaraz. Add Barkley and Stones coming through and it's a stronger squad defo, as for the first team we'll see. Fellaini will obviously be the big miss.

A good way of looking at IMO. Exciting times ahead.

Very odd that. More than meets the eye I reckon. United trying to save face?

Heard somewhere the three men are very well known international lawyers who have been part of major deals involving big clubs before.

Sounds like he was being used as back up in case Fellaini didn't happen, they delayed the deal & then scarpered when it was obviously as good as signed over here.

Must resist Del's mar joke

Considering the negative net spend and loss of Fellaini, the squad doesn't look too bad.

I feel much better about Everton's chances for the season than I did this time yesterday.

The best thing about the deadline day: Osman should now be 5th choice behind Barry, McCarthy, Gibson and Barkley

Lukaku has the potential to be the best forward we've seen since Graeme Sharp- shame its only a loan

Mcarthy looked decent from what ive seen of him, which isn't a lot if im honest.

Barry is a decent player who'll give us good cover for or push Gibson for his place.

Amazed we got that much for Fellaini, can't compain at all.

Baines still a blue- Gotta be very happy with that.

Anichebe gone- We got actual money for him, good bussiness.

Overall we've improved i'd say, although only for the short term.

Why do you want a CB lid? We've got about 90 of them.

Our defense is ageing . Distin will be near his end date . Heitinga is not arsed and will be gone . Alcaraz is a cripple and jagielka is 31 . If stones replaces distin then hopefully build up a partnership with jags . We then need a centre back to suit martinez style and who can replace heitinga and then later on jags

Fair points. I think Heitinga will be gone in Jan myself. That still leaves us with 5 CB's and 31 isn't really that old for that position.

I think we can afford to wait for Distin to stop playing well until we replace him. He's a freak of nature. Still one of the quickest players in the league.

No matter that two signings are loans, it gives us breathing space and hopefully we can repeat our league table finish or better.

Disappointed that the alleged inquiries for Naismith did not show and Heitinga still here. Hopefully Osman will now become a regular bench warmer and that can only be good IMO.

Raise your glases to the future and keep the faith.

I dont think there's any slight doubt that we are far far stronger, only loss is Fellaini and who's to say he'd have fitted into the gameplan anyway? got to give credit to Martinez for having this squad now so early into his reign, i think a lot depends on the form of our winger/strikers namely deulofeu and Mirallas, if they click then I can see us running amok in some games.....

My understand is that Heitinga could still go as the Turkish transfer window remains open until the 6th of September.

Brilliant window, the Lukaku loan really made it for me. We desperately needed a striker with quality. Hopefully this frees up Jelavic as well from the pressure of carrying the load.

Not going to lie, despite it being the best for all parties, the departure of Fellaini hurts.

But you expect him to be pushed down the pecking order a bit now though.
And how refreshing is it to see such depth in our midfield? And how nice is it to be able to say Gibson, Pienaar, Defoleu, Mirallas, McCarthy, Barkley, Barry before having to say Osman?
