Was interesting that Everton got a bit of help from UTD's two biggest title rivals yesterday, perhaps allowing us to hold out for a better price right up to the bell & likely forcing Moyes to stump up for Fellaini's loyalty payment.

Utd thought they could bully Everton into a cup price deal for two players, instead they paid over the odds and got only one.

Probably a coincidence.

I don't think it is. Spurs where hanging on with Bale to piss on Arsenals chips.

Very happy with how it finally panned out! Wouldn't of been happy had Victor and Fellaini left and we signed no one.

Had to laugh when we got the contingency out to Porto again, only for the player and all the portuguese press be like 'What Deal?', yet all the Everton fans creaming themselves on twitter over signing 'the octopus', even though probably none of them had seen him play!

But if we do have any funds left for January i think our next position which needs stregthening is CB, needs to be done sooner rather than later, Distin is ageing, everyone hates Heitinga and Jagielka is the wrong side of 30 now too, it could really catch us out.

All in all we have done well especially on deadline day . We have strengthened the depth of the squad and have brought in a goal scorer . I am more looking forward to January where we will have 14 million to spend . Hoping for a centre back and a winger/playmaker . We won't be short off the top 6 we just need quality now . Hopefully stones can come in for distin

If a Lukaku deal is possible we should "ring-fence" (LOL) the profit made in this window and put it down as a down-payment to Chelsea in 10 months time. There's every chance they may have numerous players above him in the pecking order and he may not want to stick around.

Chelsea could go and buy Falcao, Ronaldo or someone else that big in Jan if Mourinhos plans aren't panning out. Players like Lukaku can easily become surplus without ever doing much.

Sad to say it but skint clubs like us need to be in a position to pick up bargains when they fall.
 
...what a night of ups and mainly downs. All worked out ok in the end, though. Fellaini was inevitable and good work by negotiators to not only squeeze a decent fee, but also to get the transfer request. Lukaku is the one grabbing everybody's attention and I'm happy with him. Good money for Victor considering his goals per game and injury record. I like Barry and think he will win fans over. Liked the look of Fernando so disappointed that didn't happen. Have to say I'd prefer not to have gone back to Wigan but we wait and see about McCarthy. Dave W was announcing we offered £12m over 4 years so not sure what changed to make it happen.
Bottom line is are we stronger than we were at the end of last season? Need to balance the loss of Fellaini with acquisition of new guys and you have to think we're no worst off.

Wanted to leave but remained professional. End up getting Utd to pay 27.5 for him and the when the club requested he put In transfer request, he agreed allowing us to not pay him £2-3M in loyalty bonuses.

Shame to see him go, he gave our team more pizzazz than the replacements. I was initially annoyed he wanted to leave us, but we've had some good years out of him and got good money for him. You can't blame him for wanting to move on to Utd, can't expect him to have the same loyalty as us.
