Whatever happened to normal names ?

..there’s also odd ways of spelling names. I always think it’s a problem if you have to spend your entire life spelling your Christian name to people on the phone etc. Parents think it’s trendy, but it’s a bit silly really.

I asked the kids

“That’s be weird”

“I’d give him a wizarding staff”

that's brilliant! i'd love to have received a wizarding staff from a classmate. what a cool kid you have there, mate

It’s weird how normal names went out of fashion.

what's normal, tho'...especially in these globalised times, many kids today are multi-cultural: my better-looking half is Hungarian, so we've got 3 different nations in all to choose from when thinking about our future kids' names.

personally i'm all for exotic unique first names, unless they're intentionally weird like Zappa's kids: Moon Unit & Dweezil are a step too far out there, granted.

My daughter has a fairly unusual middle name - Flores. She is mixed heritage but not Portuguese like that name. Her first name is a traditional name
