Whatever happened to normal names ?

Went with traditional names with our kids. It's clearly a thing here too with all those weird fusion names. Some are great but some just feel ridiculous and forced. Here parts especially certain religious group tends to do this.

My boys are Andrew and Noah. Rather plain I suppose, but they seem okay with it.

My wife used to teach school and saw all sorts of names for folks. Our favorite remains a little girl named Urhighness.

No. No he did not.
As you raise it, one if the cleverest people I taught is a Wayne. All of the others weren't though.

the former are more typical working-class names and the latter more upper-middle...not too hard to then guess what the average grades will be...funnily enough i come from a working class background, my grades weren't good and my first name i think is more common in working-class families than not.

Makes you realise the impact that parental background, expectation, ambition, opportunity has on grades.
Remember that when government beat up schools over league tables and performance.

Each to their own I suppose. Just make sure your kid's initials don't spell out something ridiculous like Twit or Feck.

The problem with some parents is that they're so immature that they can't see how selfish they're being by giving a child such ludicrous names. They don't see their new born as the tiny human being that he/she actually is, who will In reailty will have to live with the consequences of their parents stupidity for the rest of their lives or until he/she can legally get it changed.

No, these extremely juvenile and selfish individuals only see THEIR baby. A cute little thing for them to show off to their friends and family. One can only hope that the child doesn't get bullied too much and grows up to be well adjusted and a good deal more mature then their idiotic parents.
