Player Valuation: £40m
To be fair on the FIFA comment, it’s a lot easier to get this crap squad to play good football in FIFA than it is in real life

We'll break him.In my opinion yes.
We've tried the "nearly / wannabe managers" , he's been a winner all of his football career .
I dont think he switches that off here.
Mate just like with sky and anyone else they are not trying to sell to everton fans. They like all media outlets are selling to the biggest number. Sticking Gerrard in there was good business stratagem. To all the Liverpool fans who jumped on the video to have a laugh. It was acute awareness if you ask me.Such an abundant lack of awareness, you're discussing the woes of Everton and you invoke Gerrard as a beacon of success. I'm sure that uplifting tale will resonate with the Everton fanbase
Read the actual article today.
It's a mess.
Needs a lot of work and can't say Carlo comes out of it well either.
Let's just hope it clicks.
Not sure if it's the same Athletic article as I just read, but it blamed the players and the manager, although the players more strongly.
The only criticism on the manager I agree with is that we should go long more often. I don't like possession football, I like fast direct football and that's the Everton blueprint for me. We don't have enough aggression in midfield to play like that effectively is the problem. These players are second to every ball so it's going to be very difficult for Dom when the players around him win zero second balls in a direct system.
The players are the problem. The squad is weak and has no depth. We didn't have bench options at any point all season. The clear out should already be underway.
It's the one from both GoK and PB mate.
I wouldn't say it 'blamed' anyone. Just paints a pretty bleak picture of all involved tbh.
I've said it before with the attitude thing, it's only half of the problem. The other half of the problem is that most of the players aren't very good.
Yeah. I honestly don't know if it is a tactical thing always from Carlo or if the players are simply unable to do it. Either way, you have to question why because it's pretty much the only strength we have unless James plays and even then, we see him drop deep too often.
It's the in vogue way of pull yourself up by your boot straps. So: "culture shift" needed.
Thanks, you pair of middle class 'kin divvies.
The only thing carried out with professionalism since Moshiri arrived has been that stadium scheme. So far. The rest has been a calamity worse than when Kenwright was here. Moshiri is a back seat driver screwing everything up (most of all every appointment he makes); the CEO is a useless chugger; the DoF is a disaster. We've seen half a billion spent on the squad and hiring and firing of managers and we on the same level as Villa and worse off than Leeds. It's the in vogue way of pull yourself up by your boot straps.
The culture shift I think has happened since Kenwright was solely in charge of the train set. Moshiri and Brands are certainly not absolved of any criticism (to put it mildly) as they have wasted time an money on a profligate scale, but the club does look to be becoming better run and more professional. It's only when something is happening that those who haven't been paying attention notice and realise the problems that have been around for years and decades.
Essentially they were saying we don't have enough players with a win-at-any-costs mentality and standards throughout the organisation all need to improve. Yeah well thanks for stating the obvious. I did laugh at the guy who gave a typical Everton fixture as a home game which we should win easily but concede an early goal and then huff and puff without an idea trying to scrape a goal back - that was as fair a comment about us as I ever heard.
NoAren't the Athletic just a bunch of virgins who club together a mix of words and opinions from football writers and pundits then pass the articles off as their own? I might be wrong like but no chance I'm having some beauts who've probably never been to Goodison telling me whats wrong with the club.
No
They are pretty good and create all their own content. They are probably the best out there for football coverage. They have a couple of Everton writers - Paddy Boyland and Greg O'Keefe who used to be at the echo.
