Given the start we've had we should be thinking about pushing for top 4.

Realistically, 6 - 10 place. We must invest in far more quality if we are to have the opportunity to be in the top 4. I think we are far away. As long as the other top clubs do not have financial problems, and we can not match their investments, then I think the top 4 is unlikely. It is possible that every ten years there will be a surprise, but this will be a short-term success.

You could be right but I hope you have taken more injuries and suspensions into consideration, it won’t look as pretty without some signings, even on loan.

A lot of people are saying that "The league is crap."
The funny thing is, people often also say that the league is crap when there is only two teams running away with it.
Yes, the standard of the top two of City and Liverpool has dropped but the standard of the lower teams like Leicester and Villa etc has risen so for me that makes it more exciting/better.
Ultimately though, with just little changes, I think the final top 8 league placing will end up pretty much the same as the last few years.
I also think that the higher standard of the P/L compared to the other leagues in Europe will be shown in how much better ours do in the European competitions.

We have a lot of muppets in our fan base judging by the some of the utter clowns and meffs who post in here.
we win a few games and all of a sudden we’re gonna win the league and whatnot then we put in a bad performance we get rubbish like we’re crap and if you think otherwise your delusional posts from a lot of donkeys looking for attention.
Truth is we’re somewhere in between and still have work to improve the squad but we already knew this but all this hyperbole rubbish his just so sad it’s as if people want us to fail so they can post provocative rubbish seeking attention.

your right we should be finishing above 8th but i think the sad thing is as a club weve stood still for many years whilst others around us have got better and theres alot more competition because of it, either way weve improved in the 12 months and should be aiming top 6 minimum especially how inconsistent other teams are this season
I think 6th is probably about where we sit at the moment. My assessment is made purely on our performances especially the losses. I don’t feel we have the required quality within the present squad to push for the top 4 this season unless we manage to sign a couple of centre forwards to bring some proper fire power to the team.

Really? Any day they lose is a happy day Southampton are level with us we're 4 off the top after 16 games. It's very compact so 7th or 2nd it's a snickers not a sprint
